Met zijn jongere broer pleegde hij diverse keren sabotage, onder andere door kabels door te snijden die Duitse kanonnen en zoeklichten verbonden. Op zoek naar een wapen meldde hij zich aan bij de Geuzen en werd daar als lid geregistreerd. Toen de Geuzen werden opgepakt, werd ook Eijgenraam al snel gearresteerd.</p><p>Na een verblijf op het politiebureau in Vlaardingen en in de gevangenis in Scheveningen werd hij in april 1941 op transport gesteld naar Buchenwald en ondergebracht in blok 14. In Buchenwald werkte hij in de Gärtnerei. Het was er destijds nog niet zo slecht. In maart 1942 werd hij overgeplaatst naar Ravensbrück, alwaar hij barakken bouwde. Daar verslechterde zijn eigen toestand door het zware werk, het gebrek aan eten en de slechte hygiënische omstandigheden. Op het laatst woog hij 45 kg.</p><p>Hij werd als Muselmann op transport gesteld naar Dachau. Daar werd hij de eerste periode ondergebracht in een invalidenbarak. Hij hoefde er niet te werken en kreeg beter te eten. Na twee maanden bleek hij tyfus te hebben en werd hij opgenomen in het hospitaal. Na zijn herstel werd hij in een gewone barak ondergebracht en in een arbeidscommando geplaatst. Zij taak was de zorg voor bloemperken. Een jaar later kreeg hij roodvonk en werd hij wederom opgenomen in het hospitaal. Na zes weken was hij hersteld en werd hij in het commando van de keukendienst geplaatst. Hierdoor had hij meer dan genoeg te eten en herwon hij zijn vroegere gewicht.</p><p>Na de bevrijding van het kamp door de Amerikanen op 28 april 1945 werkte hij in München voor de Amerikaanse troepen. Zes weken later reisde hij terug naar Nederland. Na een jaar te hebben gewerkt als bewaker van een kamp voor NSB-ers ging hij weer als tuinder aan de slag.
