De geïnterviewde vertelt voer het werk en leven op een onderneming. Later werd hij administrateur.</p><p>1422.2 Tijdens de Japanse inval werd geïnterviewde krijgsgevangene gemaakt en moest werken aan de Birma spoorweg. Na een korte tijd in Nederland keerde de geïnterviewde terug naar de ondernemingen in Indië. Andersdenkenden Indonesiërs die anti-Nederlands waren vormden een gevaar voor de onderneming. De Europeanen werden bewaakt door de ondernemingswacht, maar de employés van de onderneming patrouilleerden `s avonds ook zelf om beurten. De geïnterviewde bleef tot 1959 in Indië. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
