De Tribuneverkoper uit de buurt brengt haar in contact met een pantomime vereniging van de communistische partij. Via deze groep ontmoet ze enkele bekende leden van de Communistische Partij Nederland (CPN).</p><p>Tijdens de oorlog verspreidt ze onder andere de illegale Waarheid. Na de oorlog blijft ze actief voor de CPN. Ze verkoopt communistische kranten, doet mee met geldinzamelingsacties, is districtbestuurder van de partij, penningmeester van een vrouwenvredesorganisatie en lid van de zangvereniging Door Onthouding Sterk. Ook haar echtgenoot, afkomstig uit een communistisch gezin, is actief betrokken bij de CPN en diverse commissies. Hij zit enige tijd in de gemeenteraad. Na de opheffing van de CPN is CPN02 fanatiek gaan sporten. Op haar 80ste loopt ze voor het laatst de Dam tot Damloop.<br><br>De aanleiding voor dit interview was het Aletta project om levensverhalen van vrouwen vast te leggen die (actief) lid waren van de Communistische Partij Nederland (CPN) en tenminste 14 waren toen de Tweede Wereldoorlog Na de oorlog verdween echter hun aureool van moed en verzet al snel onder invloed van de Koude Oorlog.</p><p>In dit project zijn de persoonlijke ervaringen van een aantal CPN-vrouwen op beeld vastgelegd. Openhartig vertellen ze over hun politieke overtuiging, het lidmaatschap van de Communistische Partij Nederland, de Tweede Wereldoorlog en de jaren erna, toen de CPN in een isolement raakte.</p><p>In veel gevallen waren de vrouwen al vroeg bewust van de opkomst van het fascisme. Vanaf 1933 maakten zij mee hoe Duitse vluchtelingen werden opgevangen door familie of bekenden. Velen raakten een paar jaar later betrokken bij de Spaanse Burgeroorlog. Verzet bieden tegen de Duitse bezetter was voor hen een vanzelfsprekende keuze.</p><p>In de interviews vertellen zij over hun ervaringen als koerierster, distributeur van bonnenkaarten of bezorger van de illegale Waarheid. In sommige gesprekken gaat het ook over het gewapend verzet, internering en onderduik. Kenmerkend is dat alle vrouwen nadrukkelijk praten over de consequenties van dit alles voor hun verdere (politieke) leven.
