Zelf werd hij bij de algehele mobilisatie van 1939 ingezet bij de infanterie te Bergen op Zoom. Hij volgde de onderofficiersopleiding en werd in mei 1940 bij Rijswijk gelegerd als ordonnans. Hij vertelt over 10 mei 1940 en de zware mitrailleurs - die door gekibbel van de gemobiliseerden niet in actie kwamen. Wel werd een Nederlands vliegtuig beschoten door eigen vuur. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.</p><p>Onderstaand treft u de links naar de metadata van alle interviews. De  interviews zijn om privacyredenen alleen na toestemming van het Veternanen Instituut toegankelijk.
