De geïnterviewde kwam bij het Korps Mariniers. Hij vertelt over zijn opleiding. In Irak zat de geïnterviewde bij de transportgroep en zorgde voor de bevoorrading en voor het terugbrengen van vluchtelingen. Toen de geïnterviewde uit dienst was werd hij gevraagd om mee te gaan naar Cambodja. De geïnterviewde kwam bij de infanterie. Er heerste geen goede sfeer in het team. Hij beschrijft de situatie in Cambodja. De lokale bevolking leek hen niet welkom te ontvangen. De geïnterviewde kwam weinig van het kamp af en er heerste verveling. De geïnterviewde vertelt kort over zijn tijd in Jacmel, op Haïti. Hier had hij een goede tijd. De geïnterviewde gaat in op het positieve contact met de lokale bevolking en het mooie van het bieden van hulp. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.</p><p>Onderstaand treft u de links naar de metadata van alle interviews. De  interviews zijn om privacyredenen alleen na toestemming van het Veternanen Instituut toegankelijk.
