Na terugkomst in Amersfoort pakte het gezin de draad weer op, totdat de Arbeidsinzet dreigde en haar vader in eigen huis onderdook.</p><p>Het gezin kerkte bij gereformeerd predikant S.J. Popma, die niet meeging met de groep die zich ‘vrijmaakte’ van de gereformeerde kerken.
