De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn werkzaamheden, de gang van zaken op de onderneming en schetst een beeld van het sociale leven in Indië.</p><p>1636.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de mobilisatie en hoe hij krijgsgevangene werd gemaakt. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn ervaringen in de kampen en gaat in op de capitulatie van Japan. Hij kwam uiteindelijk in een ziekenhuis te werken in. In 1947 werd de geïnterviewde gedemobiliseerd om weer aan het werk te kunnen gaan op zijn onderneming, maar ging eerst met verlof naar Nederland.</p><p>1636.3 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de terugkeer op zijn onderneming. Alles was afgebrand. De geïnterviewde vertelt over het weer op orde krijgen van de onderneming en schetst een beeld van de aanhoudende onveilige situatie. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
