In 2005 is, in het kader van de 60ste herdenking van de bevrijding van Venlo, de serie uitgezonden door Omroep Venlo in het radioprogramma Venlo Plus.<br><br>In dit vijfde deel spreekt Charles van den Berg met Toon Hermans. Hij is geboren in 1919 te Hout-Blerick. Op 16 april 2005 is Toon Hermans overleden. Tijdens de mobilisatie in 1939 wordt Toon Hermans ingekwartierd in de Frederik Hendrikkazerne in Blerick. Hij is zijn hele verdere leven militair gebleven. Via de Peelstelling in Volkel vecht hij mee als onderofficier. Terug in Blerick maakt hij zich verdienstelijk bij het ondergronds verzet. Later ontvangt hij een hoge militaire onderscheiding voor zijn goede daden.
