Zij trouwde hier, en woonde in Batavia en later in Soerabaja. De geïnterviewde werkte voor Sociale Zaken. Het was gevaarlijk op de pasar. De geïnterviewde beschrijft het sociale leven. Ze volgde de politieke ontwikkelingen, maar  merkte er zelf weinig van.</p><p>1255.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt dat zij weinig van de situatie in Indië meekreeg. Demonstraties tegen Nederlanders vond zij alleen vreemd. De geïnterviewde maakte in deze tijd veel uitstapjes en ging een aantal keer met verlof naar Nederland. In 1958 vond zij dat het leven niet erg veranderd was. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe zij afscheid nam van Indië met een groot feest en een reis. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
