Hij moest in dienst en werd korporaal milicien vliegtuigmaker. Na zijn dienstplicht diende hij, in 1940, door als burgerambtenaar bij de MLD. Hij was ingezet bij het vernielingskorps. De geïnterviewde werkte tijdens de bezetting in een fabriek onder de Japanners, zo bleef hij uit het kamp. Hij had hier een hoge positie. Tegen het einde van de bezetting werd de geïnterviewde gevangen gezet. Eenmaal weer vrijgekomen werd hij en zijn gezin vrijwel meteen geïnterneerd.</p><p>1289.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe hij na terugkeer uit het kamp, zijn leven weer oppakte. De geïnterviewde was een goede ondernemer en bouwde een goede zaak op. Hij gaat in op de veranderingen die nu in de werksituatie plaatsvonden.
