Hij besloot bij het Korps Mariniers te gaan en werd eerst naar Curaçao gestuurd. Later werd hij als ziekenverzorger-marinier geplaatst in het Field Dressing Station, het veldhospitaal van de mariniers in Cambodja. Hier was het keihard werken: de hele dag zwaargewonde Cambodjanen verzorgen en assisteren bij de operaties van de mijn- en oorlogsslachtoffers. Ook moest hij met de artsen samen een groep collega´s opvangen die in een hinderlaag waren gelopen. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.</p><p>Onderstaand treft u de links naar de metadata van alle interviews. De  interviews zijn om privacyredenen alleen na toestemming van het Veternanen Instituut toegankelijk.
