De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn jeugd en opleiding. Hij werd bouwtechnicus en kwam in dienst van Defensie als officier. De geïnterviewde geeft zijn motivatie voor de uitzending en gaat in op zijn relatie. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de heenreis naar Pol-E- Khomri. Hij werd aan het PRT team toegevoegd. De geïnterviewde was verantwoordelijk voor het onderhouden van de basis, maar hij hielp ook graag de lokale bevolking. De dankbaarheid deed hem goed. Tijdens de tweede uitzending naar het gebeid maakte de geïnterviewde deel uit van het Joint Support Detachement van de Luchtmacht. Nu zat hij op de basis in Kandahar. Hij noemt de situatie veilig maar niet stabiel. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.</p><p>Onderstaand treft u de links naar de metadata van alle interviews. De  interviews zijn om privacyredenen alleen na toestemming van het Veternanen Instituut toegankelijk.
