Hij vertelt hoe hij werd gescheiden van zijn vader en broer die uiteindelijk in de gevangenis kwamen. Tijdens de bersiap tijd zat hij een gesloten wijk. De geïnterviewde kwam bij de luchtmacht terecht en ging voor zijn vak naar Biak. Hij vertelt over de situatie daar en gaat in op het verschil tussen de marine en de luchtmacht. Er was weinig te beleven op Biak en er werd dan ook regelmatig aan sociale activiteiten gedaan.</p><p>1119.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over het moment nadat duidelijk was geworden dat Nieuw-Guinea nooit overgedragen zou worden. Hij vertelt het afronden van de missie wat gepaard ging met het onklaar maken van achterblijvende apparatuur. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
