Tijdens de Japanse bezetting zat zij pas net op het lyceum. De geïnterviewde beschrijft de Japanse bezetting. Zij kon zich nog wel vrij bewegen en het gezin bleef de gehele periode buiten het kamp. De geïnterviewde bleef thuis en hielp haar moeder. Ze heeft een tijdje in de gaarkeuken gewerkt en kreeg altijd een maaltijd mee naar huis.Ze vertelt hoe de sfeer na de bezetting grimmig werd en de Indonesiërs angstig waren om contact met je te hebben. De geïnterviewde vertelt over een angstige ervaring van de bersiap tijd toen het ziekenhuis waar zij werkzaam was werd aangevallen door Indonesiërs. De geïnterviewde betreurt zich over de afloop van de geschiedenis van Nederlands-Indië.</p><p>1136.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt meer over haar jeugd in Indië en beschrijft het dagelijks leven van voor de oorlog. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe men elkaar tijdens de oorlog niet meer durfde te vertrouwen. Vanwege het verhuizen werd er veel verkocht. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe zij toch aan sociale activiteiten deed. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
