Na de oorlog hervatte hij zijn school weer op verschillende plaatsen in Nieuw-Guinea. Eind jaren 50 werd de geïnterviewde door de Zending uitgezonden naar Nederland om een vak te leren en de kennis mee terug te brengen. De geïnterviewde vertelt over een eigen bedrijf wat hij samen met een partner oprichtte en over zijn betrokkenheid bij de kerk. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
