In 1999 werd hij als Luchtmobiel infanterist naar Bosnië uitgezonden in het kader van SFOR 6. Hij vat deze missie samen als een rimpelloze werkvakantie. In 2002 beleefde hij in Afghanistan zijn tweede uitzending, als leidinggevend korporaal in ISAF II. Zijn groep was onervaren en het kader faalde, waardoor er een gevoel van basisonveiligheid ontstond. ISAF II werd voor hem getekend door een reeks van incidenten, die hem blijvend tekenden. In 2003 vloeide hij af bij defensie, en kreeg voor lichamelijke en geestelijke klachten behandeling. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.</p><p>Onderstaand treft u de links naar de metadata van alle interviews. De  interviews zijn om privacyredenen alleen na toestemming van het Veternanen Instituut toegankelijk.
