Ongekend Bijzonder is een oral history project. In totaal 248 vluchtelingen, vooral mensen die de afgelopen veertig jaar hun land noodgedwongen moesten verlaten, doen aan het project mee. In diepgaande, gefilmde interviews, vertellen zij hun levensverhaal. De focus ligt op hoe zij in Nederland een nieuw leven hebben opgebouwd en op hun bijdrage aan de vier grote steden van ons land.

Behalve per stad is ook onderscheid gemaakt tussen de periode van binnenkomst. 4 x 50 interviews zijn gehouden met vluchtelingen die al enige tijd, soms tientallen jaren, in Nederland wonen. 4 x 12 interviews zijn gehouden met nieuwkomers. Het project is dus niet enkel een verslag van gebeurtenissen in het verleden, maar ook in het heden.

Ieder interview is in EASY opgenomen als een afzonderlijke dataset. In deze datasets vindt u de video, de transcriptie en de beschrijving van het interview. Sommige interviews zijn op aanvraag, andere zijn toegankelijk voor in EASY ingelogde gebruikers.

Bij de afronding van het project is het beheer van de interviews overgedragen aan de stadsarchieven. De afhandeling van aanvragen voor interviews op aanvraag vindt in eerste instantie plaats door Stichting BMP, en op termijn door het desbetreffende stadsarchief.

Hieronder vindt u links naar de interviews voor zover beschikbaar. De overige interviews komen in de loop van 2016 beschikbaar.

Het veld 'Temporal Coverage' van ieder interview bevat 3 tijdsaanduidingen:
1. de periode tussen geboorte van geïnterviewde en de datum van het interview
2. het jaar van aankomst in Nederland
3. het jaar van erkenning als vluchteling

Indien het jaar van aankomst en jaar van erkenning als vluchteling gelijk zijn aan elkaar, staat 2x hetzelfde jaartal genoemd.
