Ze ging naar een Europese school. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe zij als kind de Japanse bezetting meemaakte. Haar oudere broers en vader zaten in het kamp en zij smokkelde spullen het kamp in. Tijdens de bersiap werden de mannen opnieuw geïnterneerd en het huis waar de rest van het gezin verbleef werd afgesloten en bewaakt door Indonesiërs.</p><p>1505.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt hier over de internering door Indonesiërs. Ze zat in een kamp te Plaosan. Later kwam zij terecht in verschillende opvangkampen. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de ontwikkelingen in haar familie en hoe deze naast de bezetting geen positief effect op haar leven hebben gehad.</p><p>1505.3 De geïnterviewde vertelt in dit gesprek hoe zij met moeite haar verloofde achterna reisde naar Nieuw-Guinea. Ze schetst een beeld van hoe anders en vooral primitief het leven daar was. In 1962 ging de geïnterviewde naar Nederland.</p><p>De echtgenoot van de geïnterviewde is ook geïnterviewd voor het SMGI-project. Zie interview 1621. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
