De situatie was erg onduidelijk. De geïnterviewde wist niet wat hij moest verwachten. De geïnterviewde werd op verschillende plaatsen ingezet. Hij vertelt over oefeningen en aanvallen en over zuiveringen na de eerste politionele actie. Hij zette bij bepaalde dingen vraagtekens. Hij ging voor zijn kameraden niet voor de politiek. In 1949 moest  de geïnterviewde ook bommen en mijnen demonteren. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
