Er werd vaak verhuisd. Tijdens de bezetting zat ze kort in het verzet. In 1945 werd de geïnterviewde opgepakt. Tot twee dagen na de soevereiniteitsoverdracht in 1949 woonde ze in Batavia. Hierna vertrok ze met haar man naar Nederland en na korte tijd naar Nieuw-Guinea. Haar man zat bij het KL en ze woonden in Hollandia. De geïnterviewde vertelt meer over de bezetting en de internering. Ze beschrijft de nare omstandigheden. Tijdens haar werk kreeg zij te maken met politieke rapporten en met het verdraaien van feiten.</p><p>Familie van de geïnterviewde is ook geïnterviewd voor het SMGI-project. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
