Hij werd uitgezonden naar Soerabaja en hield vanaf de Hr.Ms. Floris al in 1937 en 1938 de Japanse schepen scherp in het vizier. Hij zag dat die technologisch een grote voorsprong hadden. Op 3 mei 1940 kwam hij voor verlof aan in Nederland. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.</p><p>Onderstaand treft u de links naar de metadata van alle interviews. De  interviews zijn om privacyredenen alleen na toestemming van het Veternanen Instituut toegankelijk.
