Hij vertelt over de kazernering van het XVIIe bataljon in Makassar. Hij vertelt hoe de militaire versterking het af liet weten. De militairen trokken het binnenland in en kwamen in vuurgevechten terecht. De geïnterviewde probeerde te ontsnappen maar kwam in de gevangenis terecht. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn krijgsgevangenschap, er vond veel mishandeling plaats. Na de capitulatie kwam de geïnterviewde bij de militaire politie en werd hij ingezet bij de extremistenbestrijding</p><p>1329.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt in dit gesprek verder over zijn tijd bij de militaire politie. Het inlichtingen inwinnen lag hem goed. Hij beschrijft hoe zijn werk er uit zag en gaat in op een aantal acties. Onder Westerling maakte de geïnterviewde vier acties mee op Celebes. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek. Tussen 1997 en 2001 zijn er 1190 interviews met 724 mensen opgenomen, in totaal 2800 uur aan geluidsmateriaal.</p><p>Een overzicht van het project en de interviews in EASY vindt u onder 'Data files'.</p><p>De interviews worden bij DANS duurzaam bewaard, maar worden (voorlopig) door het KITLV zelf ontsloten.
