Woonde het grootste deel van de oorlog aan de Westduinweg. Het werk op de werf ging tijdens de oorlog door. Onder meer werden er voor de Kriegsmarine vliegtuigmotoren in schepen gebouwd. Daarnaast was er nog werk aan de visserijvloot. Moesten verhuizen, omdat de Westduinweg voor militaire transporten (duikboten, V2's) werd gebruikt, naar een huis er vlak achter. Daar hadden ze de hele oorlog stroom, omdat de Duitsers ook in die omgeving zaten. Na Dolle Dinsdag ging de werf dicht en kwam het personeel op straat te staan. Wel vond toen nog onderhoud aan de duikboten op de werf plaats, maar dat gebeurde door de Duitsers zelf.</p><p>Trok de kant van Waddinxveen op om aan voedsel te komen. Als ruilmiddel gebruikte hij zout, waaraan veel behoefte bestond: ter conservering werd vlees ingezouten.</p><p>Dook in het eigen huis onder om aan de Arbeitsdienst te ontsnappen; daar sliep hij in de ruimte onder het huis.</p><p>Na de bevrijding, toen de werf weer open ging, was er vooral veel werk aan het herstel van de vissersboten, die voor een groot deel tot militair vaartuig waren
