Tijdens de bezetting verkocht zij zelfgemaakt brood om aan geld te komen. In het begin kon ze nog etenswaar kopen van Indonesische verkopers. Na de capitulatie werd de hele buurt door Indonesiërs geïnterneerd. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de situatie in de kampen en gaat in op de bevrijding door de Engelsen.</p><p>1310.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt verder over de bezettingstijd. Vervolgens vertelt zij over het zoeken naar een veilige woonplaats tijden de bersiap tijd. De spanningen van die tijd hadden hun gevolgen. Haar man werd hierom geadviseerd uit Indië weg te gaan. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
