Hij vertelt over hoe hij aan moest tonen dat hij geen vijand van Japan was. Uiteindelijk werd hij toch geïnterneerd. De geïnterviewde kwam in twee kampen waarvan de tweede geregeerd werd door angst en vernedering.Tijdens de Bersiap tijd werd de geïnterviewde beschermd door zijn familie maar werd uiteindelijk toch opgepakt.</p><p>1137.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt hier verder over de Bersiap tijd en over de periode hierna. De geïnterviewde kan zich weinig herinneren van zijn invrijheidstelling. De geïnterviewde vervolgde zijn opleiding en trouwde. De geïnterviewde vertelt over het werk op een onderneming en gaat in op de makkelijke omgang van de familie met de verschillende bevolkingsgroepen. Tot slot vertelt de geïnterviewde over de moeilijke overgang naar het leven in Nederland.</p><p>De echtgenote van de geïnterviewde is ook geïnterviewd voor het SMGI-project. Zie interview 1138. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
