Voor de oorlog trouwde zij een  Nederlandse militair. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe haar man werd vastgehouden en zij er nu tijdens de bezetting alleen voorstond. Als Indische bleef ze buiten het kamp. Ze vertelt over het verhandelen van spullen, de geïnterviewde handelde een tijd lang met vrouwen in het vrouwenkamp wat heel gevaarlijk was.</p><p>1290.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt meer over de bezettingstijd en gaat in op de gevaren tijdens de bersiap. Haar man was in 1946 weer in dienst bij het KNIL. Ze vertelt over de gevaren die zij ervoer in Semarang. Uiteindelijk konden de kinderen wel gewoon naar school. Het vertrek naar Nederland was moeilijk. Ook het nieuwe leven in Nederland was moeilijk voor de geïnterviewde omdat mensen weinig begrip voor Indische mensen
