Hij vond zelf dat Europeanen zich ten onrechte als superieur voordeden. De geïnterviewde beschrijft wat hij in zijn jeugd meemaakte op de ondernemingen in Indië. Ook gaat hij in op zijn ervaringen van zijn schooltijd tot aan de oorlog.</p><p>1235.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt in dit gesprek over de Japanse bezetting. Hij gaat in op de capitulatie. Als enige man bleef hij achter op de onderneming. De Japanners kwamen hier langs. Als jonge jongen moest hij bemiddelen. Uiteindelijk kwam hij in verschillende kampen terecht. Het mannenkamp was heel anders dan de vrouwenkampen.</p><p>1235.3 De geïnterviewde gaat verder in op zijn ervaringen in de kampen. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de bevrijding. Hij zocht zijn familie op. Onderweg werd de trein aangevallen Indonesische jongeren. De geïnterviewde ging aan het werk en bemerkte toen het enorme gevaar op straat. Vanaf eind 1945 werkte hij als chauffeur voor het RAPWI. De geïnterviewde kwam in allerlei zeer gevaarlijke en dramatische situaties terecht. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
