Ze ging een vroedvrouwenopleiding volgen. De geïnterviewde vertelt over wat zij meemaakte als vroedvrouw in Indië. Tijdens de oorlog werd haar man geïnterneerd en stond zij alleen voor de zorg voor haar moeder en kinderen. Ze vertelt over de angsten die ze had tijdens de oorlog en gaat in op de verschillende 'typen' Japanners. Via het Rode Kruis vond ze haar man terug.</p><p>1153.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt hier verder over de discriminatie in de samenleving in Indië en gaat in op haar werk tijdens de bezetting. Zij werkte voor Japanners. Na een korte tijd in Nederland ging de geïnterviewde terug naar Indonesië. Na 10 jaar werd zij en haar man praktisch weggejaagd uit Indië. Ze keerde graag terug naar Nederland, wat wel een moeilijk nieuw begin betekende.</p><p>1153.3 De geïnterviewde vertelt over haar opleiding tot verloskundige. Ze gaat in op haar ervaringen van de bezettingstijd. Ze bleef buiten het kamp en werkte veel. Ze probeerde bij Japanners uit de buurt te blijven. Tijdens de bersiap werkte ze weinig en was het gevaarlijk op straat. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
