Het onderzoek is gebaseerd op enquêtevragen uit een aantal onderzoeken die vóór 1975 zijn gehouden en wordt in principe jaarlijks, soms tweejaarlijks, herhaald. Het steekproefaantal wordt zodanig gekozen dat de netto respons rond de 2000 personen ligt.</p><p>Het onderzoek Culturele Veranderingen in Nederland (CV) is een 2-jaarlijks onderzoek dat in 2008 in een samenwerkingsproject werd uitgevoerd door het Sociaal en Cultureel Planbureau (SCP) en het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS). Doel van het onderzoek is vaststellen welke opvattingen 'de Nederlander' heeft over samenleving en cultuur en hoe deze in de loop van de tijd zijn veranderd. Het onderzoek is sinds 1975 bijna jaarlijks en vanaf 2000 tweejaarlijks uitgevoerd. Voor het onderzoek worden personen van 16 jaar en ouder in particuliere huishoudens ondervraagd. Dit bestand is vergelijkbaar met de voorgaande versies van de SCP onderzoeken over culturele veranderingen (ook beschikbaar via DANS).</p><p>Het volledige bestand incl. aanvullende variabelen uit diverse CBS registers, kan 'onsite' of via 'remote access' bij het Centrum voor Beleidsstatistiek van het CBS geraadpleegd worden. Doel van SLI is het ontwikkelen van een indicator om de sociale leefsituatie van Nederland in kaart te brengen en het monitoren van de ontwikkeling van de sociale leefsituatie van de Nederlandse bevolking.</p><p>De onderzoeken liggen aan de basis van veel onderzoek uit het werkprogramma van het SCP.
