Ze vertelt over het gevangen nemen van haar familie en over het gebrek aan vertrouwen tijdens de Japanse bezetting. Ze beschrijft hoe zij met anderen stiekem dingen deden die door de Japanners waren verboden. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de bersiaptijd die, hoewel Japan capituleerde, beslist geen verbetering was. Ze vertelt over het wegtrekken en het verblijf in kampen. De geïnterviewde trouwde met een Nederlandse man die in Indië diende. Ze vertelt tot slot over hoe het haar en haar gezin verder verging sinds zij migreerden uit Indonesië.</p><p>De echgenoot en familie van de geïnterviewde is ook geïnterviewd voor het SMGI-project. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
