Daarna kwam hij in Drenthe te werken als chauffeur van de officier van voeding. Hij reed de officier naar Coevorden en andere grensposten waar geïnventariseerd werd hoeveel voeding er voor de manschappen nodig was. In mei 1940 hoorde hij dat het oorlog was en moest hij paraat zijn bij de wagens. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.</p><p>Onderstaand treft u de links naar de metadata van alle interviews. De  interviews zijn om privacyredenen alleen na toestemming van het Veternanen Instituut toegankelijk.
