Ze gaat in op haar schooltijd. Ze had net een opleiding afgerond toen de Japanse bezetting begon. Stiekem gaf zij les aan een groep kinderen. De geïnterviewde ging met haar moeder het kamp in. De geïnterviewde schetst een beeld van het leven in verschillende kampen en gaat in op het verlies van familie.</p><p>1244.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt verder over haar tijd in het Tjideng kamp. Het geloof was voor velen een belangrijke steun. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de capitulatie van Japan. Er was een overdaad aan voedsel. Het was gevaarlijk op straat en de geïnterviewde ging na haar herstel zo snel mogelijk naar Nederland.</p><p>Familie van de geïnterviewde is ook geïnterviewd voor het SMGI-project. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
