De geïnterviewde vertelt voer zijn ervaringen van de bezetting en gaat ook in op de rol van zijn moeder. De geïnterviewde geeft vooral zijn visie op de nasleep van het oorlog voeren en hoe de zaken zijn gelopen in Indië. De geïnterviewde betrekt hierbij de ervaringen van familieleden.</p><p>1207.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de situatie in de interneringskampen. Hij spreekt over de-totokisering die onder de jongens in de kampen optrad. Toen hij twaalf was werd hij met geblindeerde bussen overgeplaatst naar jongenskamp Grogol en later weer naar ander kampen. Buiten de kampen merkte hij pas echt de spanningen. Hij werkte bij het Rode Kruis voordat hij in 1945 naar Nederland ging. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn loopbaankeuze en gaat in op het weer oppakken van het gewone leven.</p><p>De echtgenote van de geïnterviewde is ook geïnterviewd voor het SMGI-project. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
