Als jonge jongen maakte hij het de Japanse bezetting mee. De geïnterviewde kwam terecht in het jongenskamp Loei Gadjah. Toen hij na een paar manden weer vrij kwam verbleef hij bij familie op een onderneming in Djember waar uiteindelijk ook de Japanners langskwamen.</p><p>1325.2  De geïnterviewde keerde tijdens de bezetting terug naar zijn ouders. Er werd een aantal keer verhuisd en veel verkocht.  De geïnterviewde bleef buiten het kamp. Tijdens de bersiap werd de geïnterviewde door Indonesiërs militairen naar een kamp gebracht. De geïnterviewde vertelt over het kampleven en gaat in op de reis naar een opvangkamp in Batavia. Tot slot vertelt de geïnterviewde over het hervatten van zijn school en over de gevechten in Zuid-Celebes.</p><p>1325.3 Dit gesprek gaat over de periode 1947-1952. De geïnterviewde had een baan en ging naar de hbs. Hij woonde in Makassar waar het na 1949 onrustig werd. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de gevechten tussen het KNIL en de TNI. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
