Zij en haar man werden tijdens de Japanse bezetting geïnterneerd in verschillende kampen. Na de capitulatie woonde de geïnterviewde in Bandoeng. Zij haalde eten van de gaarkeuken en kreeg voedsel van het leger.</p><p>1622.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt verder over haar ervaringen van de bezettingstijd en vertelt over de periode vanaf 1949 toen zij na verlof in Nederland op Sumatra ging wonen. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
