Hij vertelt over zijn familie en gaat in op hoe hij opgroeide in Indië. Ook vertelt hij over de verschillende groepen in Indië.</p><p>1424.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de binnenkomst van de Japanners. De geïnterviewde was nog geen 16. Tijdens de bezetting diende hij twee jaar bij het KNIL. Daarna ging hij bij de politie en is hij overgedragen aan de Indonesische politie. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de jaren 50 en zijn ervaringen van de anti-Nederlandse houding naar Nederlanders. Tot slot schetst hij een beeld van de situatie in Indië na de overdracht.</p><p>1424.3 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de verschillende groepen mensen in Indië en gaat in op een aantal van hun gebruiken. De geïnterviewde beschrijft wijken en gebouwen en vertelt over zijn ervaringen van het voor- en naoorlogse Semarang.</p><p>1424.4 De geïnterviewde vertelt over de periode vlak na de capitulatie van het KNIL. Hij vertelt hoe de stad hem als vijandig aanvoelde in deze tijd. Vanaf een bepaalde leeftijd moest hij voor de Japanners werken. Na de bevrijding kwam de geïnterviewde onofficieel in KNIL-dienst. Hij ging als vrijwilliger de vrouwen beschermen in het Lampersari-kamp.De geïnterviewde werd tijdens zijn wacht door Indonesiërs gevangen gezet. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
