Tijdens de oorlog meldt de vader zich bij de Waffen-SS. DNS05 wordt lid van de Jeugdstorm. In 1943 vertrekt ze voor de Germaanse Landdienst naar Polen. Op Dolle Dinsdag vlucht ze met haar hoogzwangere moeder en broertjes en zusjes naar Duitsland. Halverwege de reis bevalt moeder van haar zevende kind. DNS05 reist met haar broertjes en zusjes door naar Osnabrück. Vervolgens moet ze op de vlucht voor de Russen tot ze wordt bevrijd door de Engelsen. Ze wordt intussen geconfronteerd met stromen vrijgelatenen uit de (concentratie)kampen. Terug in Nederland wordt ze in een kindertehuis in Noordwijk ondergebracht. Na de vrijlating van haar moeder volgt ze een deel van een psychiatrische verpleegstersopleiding, maar ze wordt overspannen. Pas als haar kinderen volwassen zijn, krijg ze haar zelfvertrouwen terug.<br>De aanleiding voor dit interview is het Aletta project om levensverhalen van vrouwen vast te leggen van wie de ouders tijdens WO II de kant van de bezetter kozen en zelf geïnterneerd en/of in kindertehuizen en/of in pleeggezinnen ondergebracht werden tijdens de internering van hun Hun overeenkomst: ze hadden ‘foute’ ouders. Hoe was het om op te groeien in een nationaalsocialistisch gezin, met ouders die lid waren van of sympathiseerden met de NSB, NSNAP, Nationaal Front of Zwart Front? Dat is de kernvraag in dit project. Acht dochters van ‘foute’ ouders hebben hun verhaal op beeld laten vastleggen.<br>De vrouwen zaten in hun jonge jaren bij een nationaalsocialistische jeugdorganisatie of werkten voor het Duitse Rode Kruis. Sommigen zijn gevlucht na Dolle Dinsdag. Anderen zijn na de bevrijding geïnterneerd en/of berecht. Een deel van de dochters is na de bevrijding in een pleeggezin of kindertehuis geplaatst.<br>De interviews leveren een bijdrage aan de geschiedschrijving van schuld, straf en boete in de periode na de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Die periode is feitelijk nog steeds niet afgesloten: de problematiek van kinderen van collaborateurs blijft moeilijk bespreekbaar. Sommige vrouwen hebben het zwijgen doorbroken door hun eigen verhaal te publiceren, vaak onder pseudoniem.
