De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn uitzending naar voormalig Joegoslavie. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn opleiding en werk als chirurg. De geinterviewde gaat in op zijn team en de medische zorg in de enclave Srebrenica. Hij vertelt over de werk routine. Er is al snel gebrek aan alles door het afsnijden van de aanvoerlijnen. De spanning in de enclave loopt langzaam op. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de toen gevoerde politieke discussies. Hij vertelt over de Bosnisch Servische aanval. Tegen het bevel in verliet hij de bunker om gewonde burgers te helpen. Hij vertelt over de val van de enclave. Terug in Nederland is de geïnterviewde begaan met lokale bevolking. Hij loopt mee met de Mars des Doods. De officiële afwikkeling van Srebrenica valt de geinterviewde zwaarder dan de uitzending zelf.

De collectie van het Interview-project Nederlandse Veteranen (IPNV) bestaat uit meer dan duizend biografische interviews, die gehouden zijn met veteranen van nagenoeg alle conflicten en militaire missies waar Nederland bij betrokken is geweest.

Van soldaat tot generaal, van hospik tot para, van gevechten op Nederlandse bodem in de Mei-dagen van 1940 tot de slag bij Chora in Afghanistan, alles komt aan bod in deze gevarieerde collectie. De geïnterviewden hebben bijgedragen aan een schat aan informatie voor onder andere beleidsmakers, onderzoekers, media en het geïnteresseerde publiek.

Onderstaand treft u de links naar de metadata van alle interviews. De interviews zijn om privacyredenen alleen na toestemming van het Veternanen Instituut toegankelijk. Deze toestemming kunt u aanvragen per dataset via tabblad 'Permission\".
