Hij vertelt hoe hij de bezetting ervaren heeft. In 1943 werd hij geïnterneerd en kwam in verschillende kampen terecht. De geïnterviewde beschrijft de situatie in de kampen en gaat in op hoe hij hiermee om ging. Na de bevrijding ging de geïnterviewde voor de KPM werken.</p><p>1399.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn werk voor de KPM. Hij kwam te werken in verschillende havens. De geïnterviewde vertelt over onder andere  de ladingen, de mensen die aan boord kwamen en schetst daarbij een beeld van de werkzaamheden van de KPM en ook van zijn dagelijks leven in Indië in deze periode. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
