Tijdens de bezettingstijd werd zij geïnterneerd. In het begin vluchtte zij  elke dag het kamp uit. Na de Japanse capitulatie is het gezin door het Rode Kruis teruggebracht naar Soerabaja en kwam in een huis met drie gezinnen. Na de bersiap werd de geïnterviewde in veiligheid gebracht in Singapore. Hier bleef de geïnterviewde voor korte tijd. In 1947 keerde zij terug naar Batavia. Aanvankelijk ging zij met haar man naar Nieuw-Guinea.</p><p>1510.2 In het begin van de periode in Nieuw-Guinea was de man van de geïnterviewde nog in militaire dienst. Ze vertelt over zijn werkzaamheden en gaat in op het primitieve leven. De geïnterviewde en haar man werden een aantal keer overgeplaatst. Ze verbleven onder andere nabij Hollandia en in Biak. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek. Tussen 1997 en 2001 zijn er 1190 interviews met 724 mensen opgenomen, in totaal 2800 uur aan geluidsmateriaal.</p><p>Een overzicht van het project en de interviews in EASY vindt u onder 'Data files'.</p><p>De interviews worden bij DANS duurzaam bewaard, maar worden (voorlopig) door het KITLV zelf ontsloten.
