Tijdens de bezetting bleef het gezin buiten het kamp. Na de capitulatie kwam het gezin in verschillende kampen terecht. Ze werden steeds verplaatst van kamp naar kamp. In 1947 kwam de geïnterviewde weer uit het kamp. Zij ging na een aantal jaar met haar man naar Nieuw-Guinea.</p><p>1182.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt in meer detail over haar ervaring van de bezetting en de tijd in de kampen. In Nieuw- Guinea zat de geïnterviewde in Hollandia. Ze vertelt hoe het werken en leven daar was. Het vertrek naar Nederland was moeilijk voor de geïnterviewde. Ze vond steun bij andere Nieuw-Guinea gangers.</p><p>De echtgenoot van de geïnterviewde is ook geïnterviewd voor het SMGI-project. Zie interview 1185. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek. Tussen 1997 en 2001 zijn er 1190 interviews met 724 mensen opgenomen, in totaal 2800 uur aan geluidsmateriaal.</p><p>Een overzicht van het project en de interviews in EASY vindt u onder 'Data files'.</p><p>De interviews worden bij DANS duurzaam bewaard, maar worden (voorlopig) door het KITLV zelf ontsloten.
