In 1940 kwamen Engelse militairen bij haar over de vloer. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe ze de periode doorkomt. Haar man wordt uiteindelijk opgepakt. Ze vertelt hoe ze aan eten komt. De geïnterviewde beschrijft de situatie, soms werd zij uitgescholden door Indonesiërs. De geïnterviewde beschrijft steeds weer haar haatgevoel jegens de Japanners tijdens de bezetting, zij weigerde respect te tonen. Op een gegeven moment wordt de geïnterviewde opgepakt en naar Garoet gebracht. De geïnterviewde vertelt ook over haar man en broers die geïnterneerd werden in Tjimahi.</p><p>1080.2 Na in Nederland geweest te zijn keert de geïnterviewde in 1948 terug naar Indonesië. Het bevalt haar heel goed waar ze dan woont. Ze is half Nederlands, maar kan het goed vinden met Indonesische collega's. De soevereiniteitsoverdracht maakt ze niet bewust mee. Wel merkt zij veranderingen bij haar werk. Ze wisselt van werk. De geïnterviewde is gehecht aan de Nederlandse dingen in Indonesië. Als deze steeds minder worden vertrekt ze naar Nederland. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
