Tijdens de bezetting kwam hij met zijn moeder in een kamp en later in een jongenskamp. De geïnterviewde vertelt over de bevrijding en geeft aan hoe de spanning merkbaar was in de bersiaptijd.</p><p>1393.2 De geïnterviewde ging met zijn familie in 1946 naar Nederland. In 1956 ging hij voor het gouvernement in Nieuw-Guinea werken. Hij had de kweekschool gedaan. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn activiteiten in Merauke en in Fakfak. In Fakfak namen de infiltraties vanuit en de spanningen met Indonesië toe. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
