Hij werd als burger krijgsgevangene gemaakt. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn ervaringen als krijgsgevangene. In 1946 ging hij naar Nederland, maar keerde in 1948 weer terug om het werk van zijn vader voort te zetten. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe de situatie steeds grimmiger werd en hij daarop midden jaren '50 naar Nederland terugkeerde.</p><p>1445.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt in dit gesprek verder over de tweede periode dat hij in Indië was. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
