Door de strengere eisen is er steeds minder ruimte voor die industrie in Nieuwendam. Hij lijkt daar niet rouwig om te zijn.<br>Ad van Sundert vertelt over Ketje die een speeltuin schonk aan Nieuwendam, maar tegelijkertijd vieze rook uit de schoorstenen liet braken. Over het rijke verenigingsleven in en nabij Nieuwendam. Zelf is hij daarbij actief geweest en nog speelt hij graag voetbal. Hij is ook lid van het Bazenbondje,<br>zelf schat hij in dat hij rond zijn vijfenzestigste lid is geworden. Hij vind het leuk, begrijpt ook het nut van een ziekenkas, maar is sceptisch over de haalbaarheid ervan.<br>Het autobedrijf van Van Sundert staat op precies dezelfde plek als waar zijn opa vroeger heeft gewerkt. Het pompgemaal staat er nog. De gebouwen zijn opnieuw opgebouwd.
