Het SCP voerde voor de coördinerend minister voor het lesbisch- en homo-emancipatiebeleid dit onderzoek uit. In de enquête is onder meer uitgebreid ingegaan op negatieve ervaringen en reacties die te maken hebben met de seksuele voorkeur.<br>De steekproef voor RV2010 is via online en offline werving: oproepen op websites die op de doelgroep gericht zijn, via Facebook, Hyves, Twitter, mailinglijsten en nieuwsbrieven, op een aantal algemene websites en op het Radio 1-Journaal. Daarnaast is een wervingsteam op pad geweest om bij feesten en evenementen voor de doelgroep respondenten te werven en zijn er flyers gestuurd naar diverse homonetwerken en uitgaansgelegenheden.</p><p>Maart 2019 is in het kader van de AVG een aangepaste versie van het databestand bij DANS gedeponeerd. Variabelen met identificerende gegevens zijn ingedikt of verwijderd.
