Ze beschrijft het leven van haar familie.</p><p>1122.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt over het begin van de Japanse bezetting. Veel families vluchtten naar Bandoeng. Ze vertelt over de registratie. De geïnterviewde schets de situatie tijdens de Japanse bezetting. Ze werkte als assistente bij verschillende dokters. De geïnterviewde vertelt het verbod op samenscholing en de razzia's. In de bersiap tijd ging de geïnterviewde als Rode-Kruis zuster aan het werk, het vervoer werd beveiligd tegen de extremisten. De geïnterviewde vertrok naar Makassar en in 1948 met haar gezin per schip naar Nederland.</p><p>1122.3 De geïnterviewde vertelt over haar trouwerij en hoe zij toen woonde met een ander echtpaar in een officiershuis in Makassar. De geïnterviewde vertelt over het werk van haar man voor het KNIL. De politionele acties kwamen in zicht. Het leven in Makassar was redelijk geïsoleerd. Wel af en toe werd er geschoten. Na terugkeer in Nederland wilde haar man graag terug naar Indië, wat meer hun thuis is, maar na de tweede politionele actie kon dat niet meer.</p><p>De echtgenoot van de geïnterviewde is ook geïnterviewd voor het SMGI-project. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
