All EU agencies that were a member of the EU Agencies Network (https://euagencies.eu/) at the time of data collection (2020) are included.</p><p>The deposit contains the following files:<br>- \"independence_scores.csv\": CSV file with the formal independence score of each EU agency.<br>- \"guidebook.docx\": Word file with the coding scheme and additional information.<br>- \"data.csv\": CSV file with original data that was used to produce  the formal independence scores.<br>- \"code.R\": R file with code used to produce the formal independence scores.</p><p>The data contained in \"data.csv\" is based on a manual coding of EU agencies' founding regulations. Annotated founding regulations are available upon request.</p><p>Note: Some EU agencies have undergone a name change recently (see guidebook).
