Hij vertelt over de training. De geïnterviewde vertelt hoe hij in Indië wordt ingezet. Onder mariniers heerst een sterke band. De geïnterviewde vertelt over een aantal acties. Hij deed dit als vrijwilliger zonder te veel er bij stil te staan. Later beschouwd hij de situatie als een hopeloze koloniale oorlog. Tot slot gaat de geïnterviewde in op de relatie met vrouwen.</p><p>1224.2 De geïnterviewde vertelt in dit gesprek meer over de periode 1946-1948. Hij moet veel wachten. De geïnterviewde vertelt waar de mariniers mee te maken krijgen. De geïnterviewde realiseerde zich dat hij niet achter de inzet stond. Zijn aflossing kwam goed uit. De geïnterviewde vertelt over zijn terugkeer in Nederland en gaat in op de spanningen met familie.</p><p>1224.3 In 1952 keert de geïnterviewde terug naar Indonesië en ging als burger aan het werk. Hij beschrijft hoe de situatie hier toen was. Veel Nederlanders verlieten het land. De geïnterviewde voelt zich in twee werelden, Nederlands naast Indonesisch. De geïnterviewde gaat in op de uitspraken van Soekarno en beschrijft de problemen rondom de beschuldigingen van Nederlanders. Men koos ervoor om geen onderzoeksproject op te zetten, maar om zich te concentreren op het verzamelen van de verhalen van mensen vanuit archiveringsoogpunt als basis voor toekomstig onderzoek.
