Tijdens WOII zijn haar joodse papieren vernietigd, waardoor het een gemengd huwelijk werd. Vader van MG was marktkoopman en had een kraam op de Joodse markt. MG heeft geen herinneringen aan de speeltuin, maar wel aan de Joodse markt waar hij met zijn vader heen ging. Ook herinnert hij zich dat zijn opa uit huis is gehaald. MG moest vervolgens onderduiken.
